E-sim on Hong Kong models

Hey everyone


The iPhone 12 series features dual sim (nano+e-sim) all over the world. However, in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, the phones get a dual nano sim version. Since Hong Kong has quite a few e-sim supporting mobile carriers, my querry is just that is it possible to have e-sim on the Hong Kong models of the iPhone 12 series?

Hot_Wotah’s question was about dual physical SIM phones vs dual SIM with one physical and one eSIM; China, Hong Kong and Macau get dual physical SIMs since the Xs, until the 12 mini, which is physical + eSIM.


You can see from the local support page that there are separate instructions on how to use the dual SIM, and it specifies that the 12 mini has an eSIM:
