why i cannot download messenger the response for me attempting to download messenger was "messenger can't be installed on "macintoshHD" because OS X version 10.12 or later is required. i updated the system and turned out to be 10.10.5 but still can't download the messenger. is there anyone could explain to me this matter? thank you in advance

I have tried to load Messenger onto my macbook pro and it is saying i must have os x version 10.12 or later. how do i get this. I have a Macbook pro i have just tried to download Messenger . message comes up you need to have os x version 10.12 or later to download.

If you want to install it you would need to upgrade to macOS Sierra 110.12.

Otherwise find a version that will install on El Capitan.
