iMessage bulk transfer of attachments

I would like to clear and transfer all iMessage attachments (in bulk)from my iPhone. I know in the past there has been no way to accomplish this other than via a third party which will cost $50+. Has Apple updated anything since June of last year when the last thread was posted?? You'd think this would be a simple fix. They are taking up so much storage space..ugh TIA!

I am not sure what you already know however below is what is available to transfer Photos and Links from a text message thread.

  1. Open the Text Message Thread
  2. Tap on "i" to the right of the contact's name. This will reveal all the attachments that were exchanged.
  3. Go to Photos section and then SEE ALL
  4. You can then Select the photos one at a time or several at once and then save them to the Photos app. If you select one at a time then you can send those attachments via email and other available means.

Still not entirely an easy task if you have a large number of text message attachments.
