Hello all,

I was over at a friend's and some guy jumped on me. When he did, it yanked my headphones out of my ear, and snapped the 3.5mm jack off inside of my iPhone. I haven't tried doing anything with it because I'm afraid of doing more harm, but this is a real pain. Any advice on how to fix this problem? The closest Apple store is three hours away, and I'm guessing my local AT&T store where I bought it won't be able to help me.

MacBook Pro (June 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Pack a lunch it's time for a road trip.

I would say the same - its a time for a trip to APPLE Store. By the way, you can always send it to them. Needless to say - the warranty will not apply to fix this, so first they will call you with estimate.
I would say, stay away from the guys who jump on you, even if you don't have an iPhone.
Sorry you have to go through this.

If you have a good jeweler in the area you might take it to him. He should have the tools necessary to remove it if it isn't too terribly jammed into the socket. It may not work but it might and you could save a long trip.

Try a magnet too. I don't know if it would work but be careful with it near the phone.

How about your Iphone? I am in same case. The tip of 3,5mm jack is jammed in ear T_T

I'm from Vietnam, and my Ipad warranty is still upto 30 August. I am afraid of Apple do not continue the warranty after I repair this myself. Can Apple fix this and keep the period of warranty time for me?
