How can I find out my iPad generation?

I have had my iPad for approx 10 years. I need a screen protector and a case., but I don’t know what generation it is in. I received it as a gift and it’s still working fine. It must be one of the first ones made.

If you’ve had the iPad for 10 years, then it will be either a first or second generation iPad:

Identify your iPad model - Apple Support


Be aware that your iPad is obsolete. Finding a screen protector or case may be difficult for such an old model.

🔍 So this is what I found out : If you're sure that it is an iPad Air 2 , the generations begin

with the 3 rd in 2019 . I guess iPad Air 2 and 1 don't have generations ……

iPad Air = 2013 iPad Air 2 = 2014 , they both have wi-fi & cellular and a black or white

screen bezel ( the frame around front of the device ) . They're listed as far back as 2010 :

I did spend quite a bit of time researching my second answer .

This is my first iPad , I couldn't have known that there were so many versions before my

5th generation until I looked it up .

The rules state that it's not community etiquette to insult folks who haven't been here as

long as you have . 🤷‍♀️
