I adquired a new iPad, this i my first Macintosh product I ever had, and since I bought it i cant sync any kind of music, video, photos, etc.. when i connected my iPad to my computer ( Alien ware, Windows 7, 64-bit) it made me kind of an account, with my name but several issues appeared in the screen:

**The iPad cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.

**The iPad cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified.

**The iPad cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found.

**The iPad cannot be synced. A folder was specified instead of a file.

This first time my iPad was detected by itunes, but none of the syncing services was available.

I installed all updates, and then my iPad was not appearing in iTunes.

I tried all this things:

**Re-installing iTunes
**Turning off: Computer - iPad
**Restoring iPad
**Sales Store Apple Mexico
**Another USB cable
**Installed iTunes 32-bit, with compatibility mode.

And none of thing things worked at all.

Apple is not responding me anything.

Please any kind of help, I would be grateful.

Specs:
Alienware M15X
iPad 3G+ Wi-fi
Windows 7 64-bit
iTunes version: 9.2.1.5
iPad, iOS 4, Alienware

You may need to update your USB drivers on your computer.
Some people have reported that they needed to buy a new USB 2.0 PCI controller card with VIA chip.

I suspect it's a hardware issue. I checked one guy and he told it's probably due to driver issue, you may need to update the driver or firmware.
    good luck

I hate to say this but I have never heard of anyone not having multiple problems like this- including myself when using a Windows 7 machine with any Apple product - I own 2 iPods of different flavors, an iPhone & an iPad (WiFi). Whenever I do any kind of syncing I have uneven results except fort he most basic things like getting Podcasts or transferring Music. Any software related upgades, new OS whatever is a real big pain. So what I did was to go out and buy the most inexpensive Mac and I use it for connectivity to my iStuff. You might be able to get a used Mac but they don't seem to be very available - gosh wonder why, maybe because they are so good no one gets rid of them. I only use Windows now for clients that make me use it. Good luck.

I testet the BIOS update and now i have no problems. Everything works fine. I updated BIOS Version from 7001F05 to 7001F24. Now i can sync my ipad without problems (i made a full sync with 15GB of verious Data some minutes ago). So, i can tell you, if you have an HP Laptop or PC, Update your BIOS .

I am having the exact same error messages as Heriberto. I have:

    Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes
    Restored my iPad
Been given a NEW iPad by Apple - which had the exact same issues from the first time I connected it
    Removed my security software
    Turned off my Windows Firewall
Followed the instructions to update BIOS - which apparently was already up to date

HELP! If I can't fix it this week I am getting my money back!

I use win 7 pro 64 bit evga motherboard intel CPU.

No problems using the last 3 iTunes revisions.

USB is 2.0 I only have sync problems if I try to use a USB extender or add in the apple dock.
Try using the USB socket in the back of the computer. The ones on the front have longer cable length.

I also installed bonjour, QuickTime and any suggested support program in the auto apple update menu- except the mobile-me

Same issue here. Running Toshiba Satellite with Win 7 64 bit. iPhone syncs fine. But new ipad 64G 3G will sync media but not information from Outlook. Hoping BIOS update will help here as well.

This is truly an Apple problem. I'm convinced they try and screw up Windows systems just so they can make those dumb commercials. I have no other hardware but Apple stuff have issues with Win 7 machines. But I have 3 laptops in my company, and all of them have problems with the iPhone iOS4 installations. iTunes recognizes the phone but the USB port drivers aren't compatible with Windows
