Webcam for Mac mini M1
I am new to the Mac mini M1 and have seen several individuals having trouble with webcams. Can someone recommend a moderately price webcam to use for Zoom/Web-X meetings?

I have a ms lifecam studio (aud$117) and for the most part on zoom and facetime, works reasonably well. Primary gripe I have is the lack of onboard control to make adjustments to webcam settings on the fly. I don't care who's "responsibility" it is - I blame both apple and manufacturers equally on this - there's just no good reason why we as end users, don't have some semblance of control over those kind of settings. I've got myself set to get a logitech c920 (aud$169) to hopefully be able to make those adjustments... I have heard from others, and also seen on logitech's website, that their capture software doesn't work for m1 chipped hardware - ughhh puh-lease!!! Anyways, this seems more an apple issue as this seems to go from waaaayyyy back...
Otherwise, mac mini m1 seems to be going pretty good for everything else :)
That stinks, but I have had no problems with the Logitech K520 keyboard and mouse on my 2020 Mac Mini, and no problems with the Logitech C925e webcam. At first there was an echo on Facetime, but you just have to turn down the input volume in IOS settings/sounds.
Sorry no real help here I bought the Logitech stream cam using Mac mini m1. The camera is recognised by Teams/Zoom as well as with apple software. The Logitech software itself does not work which is a bummer. I tried to run Rossetta 2 in order to overcome M1/Intel issues, that did not work either. Tried to contact the helpdesk from Logitech which is a disaster...
Do not know if you already have a monitor with the Mac . I am using with the mini M1 a HP 243M monitor with a buit-in webcam. Prices in europe are approx €240
You will need to put 2 cables besides power; 1 HDMI (monitor audio) and a USB (this cable is provided with the monitor for webcam and microphone). Works flawless...
Sorry, from earlier post of mine - I’ve got a Logitech anywhere 2 mouse, not 3 😆
as for webcam, logitech c920 pro works better than ms lifecam studio with detecting and adjusting white balance.
mind you, the sheer lack of controls for any camera settings being available I wholeheartedly blame on all of them equally - apple, Logitech, Microsoft - to the benefit of end users...
The Logitech C925e webcam works fine with my 2020 Mac mini. If you get an echo you simply have to turn down the input volume. Good luck.
I got the e925 from Logitech and it is working fine with my MAC mini.
I recently purchased this webcam and it works fine: https://www.staples.ca/products/2982563-en-avermedia-cam-313-live-streamer-webcam
If you aren't in Canada, you will have to look for it somewhere else.
The Apple Store only has one webcam, and it is very expensive: https://www.apple.com/us/search/Webcams?page=1&sel=accessories&src=serp&f=webcam&fh=4c63
I usually go with Logitech their quality brand that's been around and always had success with their cams
I too am searching for a webcam with compatible with Mac Mini M1 chip. I wanted to express caution with Logitech, as I bought two different Logitech bluetooth keyboards and a mouse, and none of them work with this computer. Ridiculous.
Ah no yeah? I’ve got mx keys and anywhere 3 mouse and they’re working for now. To be fair, I’m using the USB receiver as using Bluetooth won’t allow me to log in lol USB receiver bypasses that issue it seems
new Logi Capture
Why Update?
don't work on Mac Mini M1
The Mac Mini 2020 MAY be using the old Intel processor. If so, there will be no problems. However, if the MM 2020 is using the M1 Big Sur, Logitech has explicitly told me that they do NOT yet support Big Sur. I am still looking for a reasonably priced webcam with a mic that I can use with my new MM (M1 Big Sur). Thanks.
I have the same set up. The Logi Capture software does not work, but otherwise the camera works fine and I don't have any audio issues with MS Teams or any other programs.
