Child's iPad doesn't automatically update Apps

Question about Parental control's impact on a child's iPad setting with regards to App Updates. I noticed even though I set his iPad to automatically downloads in setting for both "Apps" and "App downloads", the apps do not update automatically. I have to update each one manually and enter my PW and 2-step authentication for every single App, which is really frustrating. Does anyone know how to update the setting?

Hello athenahoya80,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand having to enter your password when updating apps on your child's iPad, and we'd be happy to clear things up.

If you restrict access to the App Store then application updates will need your password. Please check the following link:

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Under: "Prevent iTunes & App Store purchases"

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
