You go to Settings/[your name]/iCloud and turn off Find My. If it is not showing your name you need the Apple ID and password that were used to enable Find My. Without that there is no way to turn it off.

Did you set up alternate trusted numbers when you set up 2FA? If so click “did not receive code” and you will be able to use an alternate. If you didn’t you will have to use Account Recovery →How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support
No, I did not set un an alternate. I wish i did now, seeing how hard this is. The "new" insurance company want this feature (find my phone) turned off so they can send me a new one. Its ridiculous. The phone is completely smashed. If i could get a new phone, I could sign in and delete the app on my old phone. Can't even do that. I did change the recovery phone number already, but it can take up to 24 hours. Im lucky if I can have my phone by next week.
I never thought this would be so difficult. But then again, I’m glad Apple has this to protect its customers.
When the new phone arrives, you bet I will set up more numbers, emails...
Thank you again,
Anne
We have no idea what feature you are talking about unless you tell us.
Ooops, find my iphone
Actually I can't log into my findmyiphone account without the 2 step verification. And since my phone is not working, I will not get a code to open my icloud account. So basically, im screwed.
Go to https://iCloud.com/find and you won’t be prompted for authentication.
Ok, then what...How do i deactivate??
Nope, i tried, but to disable, I have to enter 2 step authentication.
Had to switch SIM cards to get a code sent to a phone. Thank for your help.
You’re welcome. Now set up other trusted numbers, if you haven’t already. I have 4 trusted numbers and 3 trusted alternate devices.
