VR videos no longer working on Iphone

I used to be able to watch various VR videos in my iphone by using a head mounted device. Now when I try to watch one it says:

Please rotate your device
Attach the phone to your HMD
Mount your HMD

Nothing happens and the video won't play. I used to be able to watch videos without issues but for some reason it doesn't work anymore. I have a new iphone, but the problem started when I still had my old iphone.
