Spilled water on Macbook Pro M1, still works?

About one day ago I spilled a small amount of water on my new Mac. Immediately I turned it off, turned it face down, and wiped it.

Stupidly, I turned on the computer after to check if it still worked, and to my surprise it did, and I continued to use it for a little bit. Then I realised "Why am I using a computer that might have water inside it?".

So I shut to down and put it into the tent position overnight (this gave it about 10-11 hours of drying time). After I woke up I decided to check it, (which also I shouldn’t have done) and decided to do an apple diagnosis and there were no problems.

After the diagnosis, I restarted my Mac and everything was fine. Except the curser was missing, so I once again restarted the computer and it was fixed. I tested a few other things and all was good. So I decided to just keep it in the tent position for a while longer in case (3-4 hours), and I'm back on it now, writing this. Still, everything seems fine.

Is there anything else I should do, or have I saved my Mac?

Liquid damage tends to get worse over time not better.

Corrosion is insidious and progressive...

If you have AppleCare+ it will cover a large portion of accidental damage.

https://www.apple.com/support/products/mac.html

AppleCare+ (similar for iPhone and iPad, each incident of accidental damage) for Mac will carry its own price tag. Screen damage or “external enclosure damage” will run $99 per incident, while other damage, including water damage, will run $299. Users receive coverage of two incidents under AppleCare+, and after the two incidents have been used up, out-of-warranty replacement rates will apply

(*note: there may be some delay due to the temporary Apple Store closures)

This happened to me literally 24 hours ago same MacBook. Any update? Mine is currently powered off tilted and I’ll be leaving it like that for the next 2 days. The Mac didn’t shut down until I manually did it so I’m taking that as a good sign.

I think I acted fast enough to get most of the water off before it could seep in but who knows. Hope yours is still working well!
