Cross country ski workout

Why does the Cross Country Ski workout only record time and calories (a guestimate at best) but not distance nor elevation with the GPS? Is there any setting I can adjust to correct this or do I have to use a 3rd party app like Strava?

It does not appear Apple included any other statistics in the Cross Country Skiing Workout. You can check

iPhone -> Watch app -> Workout -> Workout View

While some of the other workouts are listed, and if you look at say the Outdoor Cycle workout, you will see that it allows for more statistics than will show on the display.

But the Cross Country Skiing workout does not have an entry that can be configured, so you get what Apple provides.

fieryjack's suggest for a 3rd party app may be a more useful way to go.
