Rotating objects in Preview with a Magic Mouse

I have been using the haptic Rotate command in Preview to add and modify objects in Preview for years on my laptop. Little did I know that, without a trackpad, this is just not possible on my Mac Pro. There is no command, sequence or hotkey that can be used to rotate with a Magic Mouse in Preview. I looked at apps such as BetterTouchTool or the free (and unsupported) MagicPrefs, but even those - which greatly expand what is possible to do with a Magic Mouse - don't seem to offer a solution. Couldn't Apple just add an extra haptic gesture to the Magic Mouse, to issue a Rotate command? For example Two Finger Swipe, where one finger is swiping up while the other one swipes down? It seems such an obvious thing to do, and afaik the hardware supports it. Anyone out there with a solution?

Mac Pro, macOS 10.13
