The Apple Watch battery is rated for 18 hours, but depending on how many phone calls, messages, Walkie-Talkie sessions, music streaming, music/podcast/audiobook playback, use the GPS, etc... that you do, your battery life will vary.
A new Apple Watch will, if used conservatively, last longer than 18 hours, but over time the battery will degrade.
I've had my Apple Watch for 2 years, and I'm still able to get a full, while awake, day out of it. But I also do not do many phone calls, and I do not play music on it. Mostly I check time, check weather, track an hour of exercise, and get my iPhone alarms delivered to my Apple Watch.
