Can't use AirPrint on MacBook Air running Big Sur

I have deleted all HP software (I think) due to unreliability and want to use AirPrint but I can't connect to the HP Photo 6200 series printer. When I try to add the printer the name comes up and mac says setting up etc but then I get a message: unable to verify the the printer on your network "Unable to connect to ‘HP ENVY Photo 6200 series [1A8990]._ipps._tcp.local.’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?". If I click continue it still won't work, says "Unable to communicate with the printer at this time"

Would really appreciate some help :)

Have you tried rebooting the Mac and the printer?

Have you tried connecting your printer directly to the router using an Ethernet cable?

Did you use the HP uninstaller to remove the HP drivers that were manually installed from the HP website previously? If not, then you may need to reinstall the HP drivers and uninstall them correctly by following HP's instructions.

Unfortunately I'm not sure if the error is due to networking issues or a driver issue.

Thanks for your reply and sorry for delay in getting back to you.

I have rebooted everything repeatedly (lap top, printer, wifi). I don't have an ethernet cable. I did use the uninstaller.

The same problem persists. I am ready to throw the printer away and try another but a) it's not very old and b) I might have the same issue.
