Forgot passcode

Like an idiot I reset my passcode just before crashing last night and I forgot to write down what it is. Is there any any any way to unlock your phone if you forgot your passcode? Like if you can prove the phone is definitely yours by signing into your iCloud acct etc?

You will need to reset your passcode. You will need a computer to complete this task. You can reset your passcode by following the instructions in this article by Apple ➔ How to reset your passcode on a disabled iPhone. You will need a computer for this task and all your data on your iPhone will be wiped clean in the process.

If you have a backup created then you can ➔ Restore Your iPhone from that backup file. If you do not have a backup file created then you will lose all your data on the iPhone.

If Photos, Messages and Contacts are synced to iCloud then you will be able to retrieve them after setting up iCloud on your iPhone after you reset the passcode and sign into iCloud.

I can't believe there's not some other way to unlock the phone without wiping all the data on it. I have some stuff backed up to iCloud but not everything. I don't save my photos to iCloud because there's just too many and they'd take up too much storage, and I'm pretty sure I have limited storage, but most importantly I need my voice memos saved. I'm 98% sure I checked that off as one of the things to back up to iCloud, but I also can't be certain that that's even possible, like can you choose to have voice memos saved to back up but like not have your photos saved? Is there a way I can find that out beforehand?

You can try logging directly to iCloud, from a computer or another device here ➔ www.iCloud.com with your Apple ID and Password. Hope you remember your Apple ID and Password at least. Once there then you can check on what is on iCloud. The only issue here is that if iCloud sends a verification code to your iPhone and you won't be able to get the code because the passcode has been lost. Try it anyway.
