How do I lock my screen so I can back up my iCloud? iPhone 6

have not been able to back up in 13 weeks

If a backup cannot be made it's not due to the inability to lock your device or screen as you put it but -- If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support.
