Left mouse click on Wacom Intuos4 tablet seems to be stuck

Hello,

I have an Intuos4 graphic tablet under Mac OS X 10.6.4 and I use the latest available driver (6.1.5-2). I have an issue with the tablet: after a specific amount of time I can’t do a normal click with the pen and the click seems to be „stuck“ (like you would normally click and drag for selection). I cannot solve the problem by disconnecting and reconnecting the tablet. The only solution so far seems to be to attach an USB mouse, press the left mouse button and detach the mouse again. The tablet works fine afterwards, but only for a couple of minutes / hours. I’ve also tried to reinstall the driver, but this didn’t solve the problem. The next step I took was to connect the tablet directly to an USB port of the Mac Pro instead using the USB hub of my Cinema Display. This didn’t fix the problem. Do you have any suggestions how I can fix my problem and get the left mouse click to reliably work again?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have a solution but exactly the same problem as you describe, Rafael.

I noticed that the problem is always restricted to one application. If the problem appears in Photoshop, I can switch to another application with cmd-tab and make some left clicks there with the pen. Then, if I switch back to Photoshop, the pen works again (sometimes).

Easy workaround, but still a very annoying bug.

I'm a big fan of apple but in the last months i very tired of how apple dont support anytihing, all the support are from the users, and if apple make a mistake like tjis or the blutooth in iphone or the magicg track pad (this one also stuck in click) apple dont talk about anything only the user solve the problem talking with other user

I write about an iphone proble thats is a hardawre design an apple wash their hands and this is the solution for all the incovinients for the users like us

i know...this is not an answer for the original solution but I'm very tired for that atitud from apple, at the end apple laugh from us coz alway spend our money in products that constantly have less quality

sig... I'm very disappointed

Today I installed the newest driver (6.1.6-4) and it still didn’t solve the problem.

Then I created a backup of my preferences, removed them and restored them. Things seem to work now. I will observe the behavior in the next couple of days and probably mark this one as solved.

Did you guys had to restore your settings more than once or does it still work until now after you removed and restored your settings once?

The settings remained for the most part. I have had to restore a couple of times when the photoshop settings didn't come up and occasionally I've had to unplug and plug in the tablet to get the tablet to light up. I'm not sure why the tablet behaves this way and it is annoying but the restore is quick and simple and works. Maybe someone with more knowledge could explain if this glitch originates in the tablet usb connection, the Wacom software, or the MAC OS software.
