12 max pro close up photos
I just got an iPhone 12 max pro and taking photos close
up doesn’t work. Camera doesn’t focus. Rather disappointing for this model. Is this a software bug?

The cameras on iPhone 12 are not Macro. You can only go so close before the camera cannot focus.
Take the photo further away, then use the simple edit tools to zoom in and enlarge what you wanted to capture.
Here's a quick example. Same photo. Just zoomed in:

I know it’s not macro. But I can’t make a proper close up photo which is possible with my old iPhone 7 Plus on same distance and works fine. So this is not how this camera should work. Bug should be fixed hopefully soon. Apple support stated during our chat that they are aware about this issue so they do recognize it an an issue. These two photos have been taking on exact same distance First is iPhone 7 Plus second is iPhone 12

Just iPhone camera trying to make a close up photo. I now read that apparently is a common issue of latest model 😕
Anyone managed to find a solution? I have updated to iOS 14.4 but the issue still persist.
Same here. New update didn’t help. I contacted Apple. They said the know about it and “work hard” to solve. Most expensive phone of Apple and can’t make a proper close up photo.
