Can"t get signed in after mitigation files to new macbook

mitigated to a new macbook. Now the old one will not let me sign in. I put in my password and a screen comes up and says "error please wait or press any key" Then it goes back to the sign in screen. Have tried restarting under recovery mode. Still nothing

The most trouble free way to move to a new machine, is using the Setup Assistant on the initial boot— you have one shot here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205749

If that opportunity has past, the second best way is use the Migration Assistant.
