Hey there Jerry,

We'd like to help get your Touch Bar working right, with no flickering.

Let's take some steps that'll help rule out some basics:

  1. As the first step, we recommend a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  2. While it doesn't necessarily need the latest available(macOS 11.1), we do recommend making sure to have the latest updates for the OS version that's currently installed. You can verify which version number is installed by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. Here's how to first Back up your Mac with Time Machine, and afterwards, here's How to update the software on your Mac.
  3. This link shows How to reset the SMC of your Mac, and this other one shows how to Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.
  4. While you'll also want to test it restarted normally afterwards, this link shows how to Start up your Mac in safe mode.
  5. To test for this in a new user, check out the steps under 'Add a user' here: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac
  6. This link will list the steps for Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac.
