Can you start (I.e. not in sleep mode) the Apple MacBook Pro M1 in closed-display mode?
I have. MacBook Pro M1. Can I start the MacBookPro while in closed-display mode, or do I always have to open the display and then close it?

Kelvin,
We see that you're wanting the ability to power on the MacBook Pro while it's shut down entirely, using closed-display mode. We can understand wanting to have this ability. At this time, there isn't an option to turn on the Mac from being completely powered off while using closed-display mode. However, you can send Apple any suggestions you may have to their Product Feedback Website.
Best regards!

Hello Kelvinb,
We are glad you reached out to the Apple Support Communities with your question. We'd like to help you locate the answers you need. Which version of the software is on your MacBook Pro? Also, have you had a chance to look over and follow this guide for how to Use your Mac notebook computer in closed-display mode with an external display? We hope this information helps.
Cheers!
My MacBook Pro is running the last east MacOS 11.1. Yes I have reviewed the article you posted, it does not describe how you might start the MacBook Pro from being shutdown, while connected to a dock and monitors, while in closed screen mode. I would like to start the MacBook from being shutdown (I.e. not in sleep mode).
Any hope or suggestions are appreciated.
regards
Kelvin
