Preparing old phone for trade-in

Hi I am trying to prepare my old Iphone 7 for trade in - I received the box and I erased the phone and I removed it from my trusted devices on my account, but I am unsure how to remove the sim card... instructions say remove all screen protectors, protective cases, SIM & SD /memory cards (if Applicable) and it does have a pin hole and sim card area visible.

Make absolutely certain you've signed out of iCloud on the phone. Not doing so may result in you not getting anything for the trade in.

iPhones don't have SD cards.
