iPhone 12 will not use my phone # for messages and FaceTime, only my email address.

My iPhone 12 will not use my phone # for messages and FaceTime, only my email address. T-Mobile/sprint says it’s an Apple problem, that the phone itself is perfectly fine. Anyone know how to fix this? I have totally wiped and reinstalled everything which did no good.

Go to Settings, messages

turn off iMessage

Go to Facetime and sign out

Restart the phone

Reverse the above two actions
