Hi zikiea,


AirPods Gen 1 requires an iPhone with iOS 10 or later. Make sure that you are on the latest version of iOS. Check the version of iOS by going into Settings > General > About and your iOS version will be shown under Software Version.

If your iPhone's software is outdated, please update it to the latest version of iOS: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


If you are still unable to connect to your AirPods despite being on the latest version of iOS, please reset your AirPods: Reset your AirPods - Apple Support
