Iphone XR - Screen freeze, can't turn off.

I have an iPhone XR which has frozen. It won't turn off. I've tried holding the volume and power buttons to switch off. Any attempt to switch off, calls Emergency SOS. My next thought is to let it's battery run out and try to start up again after that. Battery is currently at around 60% son I have a wait ahead of me.
