iPhone XR is saying I don’t have a SIM card in

iPhone XR is saying I don’t have a SIM card in. I haven’t touched it since I got the phone 18 months ago. This is not the first time it has happened and is becoming more frequent.

normally restarting my phone works but this time it hasn’t.

What can I do?

Try ejecting the SIM card, wiping the gold contacts with a tiny bit of alcohol, letting it dry completely and putting the SIM card back in.
