Usually you tear off the top shipping label to reveal the pre-printed label to be used to ship the laptop to an Apple mail-in repair depot. Usually you tear off the right side of the label after first bending the right side at the perforations before tearing off the thick strip on the right which then allows you to easily lift the top label to then tear it off where it hinges (and perforated) on the left edge.
