How to remove bottom banner when home button is pushed or "screen swipe up" to switch between apps?

How do we get rid of the banner notifications that show at the bottom of the phone when we swipe up to switch between apps?

When I'm listening to something via bluetooth and try to switch apps, the banner appears and gets in the way.
