Does the Apple Card Monthly Installments program work with refurbished laptops?

Thinking of purchasing a refurbished MacBook Pro. If I sign up for an Apple Card will I be able to use the installment payment plan on a refurbished item?

I called customer care and they confirmed “refurbish” products do NOT qualify for the installment plan ☹️. However they do qualify for the 3% cash back, so you’ve got that going for you.

This part of the online US Apple store sells refurbished products.

This page describes the monthly payments purchase by Apple Card. On that page Apple advises. "Whether you shop on apple.com, on the Apple Store app, or at an Apple Store, simply choose Apple Card Monthly Installments as your payment option when you make your purchase."

Accordingly, buy on the online Apple Store, and select instalments at the checkout.
