AppleCash payment “Received - Pending” ??

I’ve accepted payments through ApplePay before and they were instantly loaded to my AppleCash account. A friend sent me money last night and it says that the payment is “Received - pending” and the money is not available in my AppleCash account. Any idea how long it’s going to take for the money to be available or if there’s a chance it won’t be approved and will eventually be declined?
