Apple TV not showing photos from imac library

My Apple TV 4K always used to show my photos library from my imac using home sharing.

Now when i go to computers it only shows movies, music and home videos, but no photos.

I’ve tried resetting home sharing on the mac, selecting all photos and only some albums, still nothing on Apple TV.

I’ve tried renaming the library and signing in and out of home sharing on the mac and Apple TV, but still no joy.

these photos are not in the iCloud due to size of the library so really want to get the streaming to Apple TV working.

any other things I can try?

iMac 27″, macOS 11.1

We understand that you're having some trouble sharing your photos from your Apple TV to your Mac. To start, we'd recommend that you review your settings as outlined here: Use Home Sharing to share media from a computer to other devices

You may also consider reviewing your Firewall or security settings on your Mac. To check your Mac Firewall, you can go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and select Firewall. If the firewall is blocking all incoming connections or allowing only essential services, click Firewall Options and edit the settings.

If you're using more than one router, we also want to be sure that all devices are connected to the same router.

Also, if any of your devices are using a VPN, keep all devices on that VPN, or disconnect all devices from the VPN.
