time machine replicating useless space hogging volumes

For the past year my Time Machine has been backing up a volume that was my hard drive from October 17, 2019. It keeps doing it everyday and it is 300GB of useless files replicated daily. Not only that it replicates my Recovery hard drive 3 times. It also does this everyday.

It is frustrating most of my back drive is filled up with useless files that my back ups only can date back a few days because of this. I tried unselecting the back up hard drive and reselecting it. Did nothing. I can't delete these useless volumes from the back up drive.
