Apple Pay double tap does not work at all. Did the following instructions to disable it: “Launch Settings on your iPhone
. Step 2: Tap on Wallet & Apple Pay. Step 3: Toggle the Double-Click Home Button switch to enable or disable this feature (it's on by default).”
but the double tap prompt is still there! Even after turning it off in settings.

That feature you are turning off is not the same as the one you need to use when paying. That one is to bring up the card early. Nothing is broken. That is how it works.
When you go to settings>accessibility>touch>assistive touch>scroll down to the bottom of the screen - do you have something called "confirm with assistive touch?" That may be your alternate solution.
No in settings > Apple Pay there’s a switch that says “Double-Side button.” Which should in theory disable the feature. But it does not. I go back to Apple pay and the “Double tap to pay” is still there and still un responsive.does not
Hi, read what it says right under that please. Turn that on and go to the Home Screen. you double click and Wallet opens. You turn that off, go to Home Screen and try to double click and your screen will turn off.
