I’m trying to update my MacBook Pro from version 10.11.6 and there is no software update showing and it says not compatible from the website for the newest version

Did you try to download Catalina previously? That is the message you would get if you tried to run an update rather than the full installer.

You can upgrade up to macOS Catalina 10.15.7. Be aware Catalina does not support older 32bit apps.

What year is your MacBook Pro?
It says mid 2012
