iPhone 12 mini sound issues

Is anyone else having issues with the sound on their iPhone mini 12? I just upgraded from the original SE and now my calls sound very echoey- like everyone I’m talking to is on speaker on their side. It affects my music too, I can tolerate that. I’m hating the phone so far because of this and trying to figure out if I should return it.
