Do new credit card issues need updating on Apple Pay?

I have never had to update any of mine. See the following from Manage the cards that you use with Apple Pay - Apple Support

While you can't change your card number or expiration date, it should update automatically when you get a new card. If your issuer doesn't support updates, you might need to remove the card, then add it again.

Thanks indeed. This is what I sensed but wanted to be sure to avoid any problems using future Apple Pay transactions as I use Apple Pay from my phone as my preferred method for nearly everything . I ended up speaking to their technical support who sent me a link . It advised going into my Apple ID and updating the expiration date and security no. there. I’ve done this but perhaps it wasn’t necessary. If it works tomorrow I won’t really know if it was. Never mind. Thanks again
