Save for future events iPhone calendar

Since the last 1 or 2 upgrades choosing “save for future events” function does not work! I want to simply change the date (say for occurring on the 22nd of month to the 24th.

These are events I have entered manually, not populated from any email. They are scheduled to repeat with no end (“end repeat = never”)

The apple “support” person told me that “Of course you have to change each event. That’s how it works”!!!!!! What good is “save for future events” if it doesn’t change the future event?

So I have tested this out on my own phone using my iCloud account. Set a yearly recurring (no end) event, then changed the event to a different date choosing "save for future events."

It works.

It changed the date for every following year.

I did this for an iCloud account calendar, an Exchange account calendar, and a Gmail account and they all performed the same way. All future events updated to reflect the change.

Check to see what calendar you are recording these dates on. Test it out using your iCloud account calendar if you haven't already and see what happens there.

I don’t usually move an event by that much, but when I’ve moved, say, an event that repeats every 2 weeks by one week all of the subsequent events maintain the 2 week repeat from the new date. Are you moving iCloud events, or some other calendar provider?

The recurring events I am changing are events I have entered on my phone in the calendar that came on the phone-the iCloud calendar. These are events that happen weekly, monthly or every 3 months etc. At times I need to shift the date - say from the 14th to the 20th of the month. I make the change for February but it only changes the date for that month. Subsequent months remain scheduled on the 14th regardless of tapping on save for future events. It WILL delete future events but will not change a scheduled event date or time.

This function used to work flawlessly. I have rebooted my phone several times without any change
