Is the update for the OS I have, or it wiil be an update to Catalina or Big Sur?

I have connected my iPhone 11 max, and my Mac computer asked me to upgrade my system so that it can interface with the iPhone.

However, it does not specify whether it will upgrade my current High Sierra Os

or will install Catalina or Big Sur (which I do not want because MathType does not run on them.)
