how can I setup my new Mac mini without keyboard and using Mac air both seam to have USB 3
You need a keyboard, period. Get a cheap USB keyboard (~$20).

No mind over matter supported. Buy a decent wired keyboard, and probably a wired mouse too.
Right. A wired keyboard. But my attempt to get thru Setup Assistant with a wired Apple keyboard failed.
Not sure if there was a problem with the new M1 Mini I received, or not. Had to send it back, and now waiting for replacement. I fear there may be hidden problems with the M1 (hardware or software). See my post to this forum earlier today.
