My Pages App

Hello. I have a new IPAD 8th Gen that I started using one month ago and it recently had a software upgrade from Apple. My old IPAD is from 2013 and has been upgraded only to IOS 10.3 (no longer upgrades past this). The new IPAD recently isn’t letting me use my pages app. When I start typing on a page (either a new doc or an old saved doc), it boots me out of the doc, back to the list of docs in the pages app. I have tried completely turning off my devise and restarting it. I didn’t yet try to force pages to close because there was something about the way this suggestion was worded that made me unsure. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you.

If we understand your post correctly, when you start a new Pages document or even open an existing one it boots back to the list of docs in the Pages app. We're happy to help out!
