2019 MacBook Pro WPA2/WPA3 only? I want WPA3/Personal
My 2019 MacBook Pro 15“ is forcing me to use WPA2/WPA3 mixed? I should have no problem using the new Protocol, WPA3/Personal. I’m not on a company Mac, or Server, Just single home user/ No FTP going on at all on my end. (So No MDM) and I have no Legacy devices at all, 2019 and up.
I have been fighting this for over a year along with other issues that Apple Support, both over the phone and in person have not even made a dent in. Anyway, I have tried to force WPA3/Personal by holding down the Option key, clicking on the Wi-F icon in the menu bar, passing up my network, name even though I see it in the list, then clicking "join other network“ and putting in my network name/password and manually selecting WPA3/Personal and then OK. "It Worked“ I’m thinking I go open, Safari and yep have internet ok, I go back to System Pref/Network/Advance/Wi-Fi/ and I couldn’t believe what I see.
The system, I guess, Whatever made it do this, It had 2 extra columns:
1) Hidden (With check marks in all 5G known networks) Only 2.4GHz available
2) Auto Share or Sharable I’ve seen both but not at the same time. ( Check Marks in all Boxes)
Other Problems
When I locked down firewall, and uncheck allow auto anything, (Block All Incoming, except basic) and stealth mode). I get 12 different request for a connection (See Below)
1) bosUpdateproxy
2) com.apple.webkit.networking.Xpc
3) gamed
4) identityservicesed
5) kdc
6) launched
7) netbiosed
8) rapportd
9) smbd
10) SNMPv2
11) MediaSharingd (doesn’t wait for approval click)
12) AFP/SMB
I have told Apple Support Tier 2 Mac that I’am not filing sharing, I’m a single, personal, home user, and they say the same thing just about every time „ Im unsure what all those request for connections are, but whats the problem.??????.LOL??????? I’m Like „WHAT?“ am I in the twilight-Zone Here.?
Thank you in advance for any help.
