No, neither the original one year warranty nor the 2 year AppleCare+ extended warranty covers water damage. However, AppleCare+ does cover up to 2 instances of hardware damage, including water damage, with a deductible.

Water damage is not covered regardless of whether you have AppleCare or AppleCare+. The difference is how much it will cost to get a replacement phone. Did you purchase AppleCare+ and it's still valid on your phone? You signature suggests you have iPhone 6s, which is from 5 years ago?

AppleCare+ for iPhone provides unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection from unexpected and unintentional events such as drops, spills, or cracked screens.
