EarPods
Hello, is it possible that Apple original EarPods generate "is this lightning adapter connecting a pair of headphones" when connected to iPhone 7?

Hello TomasPrg,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. Thanks for reaching out with your question. We'll do all we can to get you pointed in the right direction. How long have you seen this error? What version of the iOS software is on your iPhone 7? You can find this in Settings > General > About.
Does this issue happen when you connect other headphones to your iPhone 7? Also, Restart your iPhone to see if this helps to resolve the issue. This step refreshes the apps and software on the iPhone to solve numerous problems you may encounter.
Additionally, you can follow this guide for what to do If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Best regards!

Tomas,
Thanks for including a screenshot of the pop-up message you are seeing when connecting your headphones. To clarify, from where did you buy these newer EarPods? Have you reached out to the reseller to confirm the manufacturer of the headphones you purchased? Also, check out this link to learn how to Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories.
Cheers!
Tomas,
We're glad you were able to reach out to the reseller with your question. Did you have a chance to go through the page which lists other ways to Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories? If not, start there. If you have and still have questions, you may want to Contact Apple for support and service directly.
Best wishes!
Hello CarlAVII,
thanks for your feedback. I have iOS 14.3 installed. I tested on other iPhone devices, all with 14.3. The message is not prompted when I connect my original EarPods which I acquired with new iPhone 7. Nevertheless, it always appear when I first plug the new EarPods headset which I bought recently from other reseller. I am suspicious this is not original Apple accessories. The message looks like on the attached picture.
When I choose 'Headphones' the adapter setting is stored in Sound & Haptics setting and the message doesn't appear again.
Thanks
Tomas
Hello,
the reseller sells the headset as original/genuine by Apple. Nevertheless, the boxing looks very strange and also the cables are less flexible than the original ones. Further, I would not expect such a popup message in case of original accessories. That's the reason for this question.
I am attaching the paper case picture:
Thanks again
