Somehow I ended up with two apple ids. What do you advise me to do, as this creates difficulties for me

Howdy,
You can either ignore the extra Apple ID you created and just not use it anymore, or you could actually have it deleted.
Like you have seen, having multiple Apple IDs can create lots of confusion. It's best to have and use just one Apple ID.

How to delete your Apple ID account
Note you cannot merge Apple IDs but you may be able to move data from one to the other. So save important information if you choose to delete one of them.
If you do have purchases on both, you may want to keep both and use Family Sharing to save access to the purchases, just don't use the one you don't want in the future.
