How do I delete downloads? I have too many not needed that are taking up too much storage

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Drag them to the trash and empty it.

Presuming the "downloads" are located in your Downloads Folder, open the folder>select a file>use (command/delete), and empty the Trash.
