On an I Mac with safari suddenly now a large iPhone ad takes over when I open safari and there is no way to remove it.

On an I Mac when I open safari, instead of opening outlook and email, a large multi page ad for the new iPhone appears and there is no way to remove it. I have no access to my email.

Quit or Force Quit Safari and reopen it while holding the shift key.

You've been a target for malware. Following the above, will prevent the offending page to appear.

Once Safari id up and running normally, clear your cookies: from the menu, click Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data and click Remove All. Now, understand that this will also clear all other website data, meaning that you may have to renter some login info on some websites and such.
