Unable to recognize GoPro through USB

My GoPro is not being recognized by my MACBook Pro. It was being recognized until recently on MacOS Catalina but was not being recognized, so I upgraded to Big Sur, same problem. Any suggestions?

The USB port is operational.

The GoPro is operational and is recognized by my other computer using the same cord.

My settings on GoPro are for an 'MTP' connection, per GoPro Support. They were unable to troubleshoot the problem.
