Unable to run certain .app programs

Recently I redownloaded Minecraft like many bored people at home and got the game up and running fine. My computer died later that night and so I stopped playing, plugged in, and went to sleep. Now Minecraft just doesn't open. I have gone through their support forums and bug report groups and given the situation in seems likely this was caused by my computer dying while the game was up. Is it possible for this to occur and what can be done to fix it? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game many times, restarted and shut down my computer, reset my PRAM, and checked if anything else was affected (my mouse, usb hub, and other apps that were running in the back: all still work fine). Wonder if anyone else is having problems with an app that works on Big Sur just simply not responding no matter what you do.

Essentially: Can a battery dying cause this issue and if so how can it be resolved.

Hello Andrewww-ouellette,

We understand you're unable to start up Minecraft in your Mac. We'd be happy to help.

Let’s try starting your Mac in safe mode to see if the issue continues. Doing this step will allow your Mac to run certain checks and prevents software from automatically loading or opening. Here are the steps to do this: How to use safe mode on your Mac

Please note that it will take longer than normal for your computer to load. Also, your screen may flash and change colors. Do not be alarmed this is normal behavior when accessing safe mode.
