It means an app is using your mic or camera and the Control Center to find out.

And no one is. You clearly seem to not understand the dots mean nothing more than the microphone is being used. If you don't want the microphone to be used as I suggested above DON'T USE any app which requires the microphone to be used.

NO. The orange dot means your Microphone is in use. The green dot means your camera is in use.

It doesn't mean you are being watched or recorded. IT JUST MEANS THEY ARE IN USE.

It's very simple to never have either appear on your screen.

1. Never use any app which requires use of the microphone. That means don't make or answer a phone call, a Skype call, a Facetime call, or use any app in which the microphone would be used.
2. Never take a photo, or use any app which requires the camera to be used.

There, problem solved.
